I see certifications only as a way to "show what I know" for the benefit
of people who do not know me yet.
Certifications alone are not a reliable predictor of how well someone will perform
on the job. I've worked with people who were certified, but did not have any real-world
experience and did not know how to handle a client or employer's live system.
Certifications combined with real-world experience can be a way to "Show What
You Know". I only use them to test and prove my knowledge. My experience is
from real-world support of live systems, not just study and classroom work.
